You have a few moments to do this upon death - and can even rise as your enemies turn to leave, and stab them in the back. As this happens, Lord Kuro’s voice will reach out to you, passing on his Dragon Heritage to you, and allow you to resurrect in battle. Note: Death comes for us all, and there is a likely a point in this area that you will fall before your enemies. You can attack from above, or you can use the bushes below to sneak up on the one patrolling first. Heading back up to the top and overlooking the area behind the first sealed gate - three more enemies guard the next gate on the stairs further up - one with a rifle that will attack at range (but can still be blocked). Drop down and you’ll find a small cave holding another item, Ako’s Sugar. Be sure to also look down the steep cliff by the broken wall - and you can just make out a lower platform below. If you look around the back of the house, or grapple to the top of it, you can look down to see a lone Soldier patrolling by a broken wall, and at the end is another Ceramic Shard. You can also get the drop on them by grappling up above, but watch for a third Soldier patrolling near the house at the top. Note that you can make these enemies come investigate your location by locking onto them and using a Ceramic Shard (throwing it near them does nothing), and then prepare for a corner takedown. There’s also a Ceramic Shard further up, but another Soldier waits around the corner, and yet another up at the top of the path by a sealed gate. Consider these candies as temporary buffs - best used when you know you're about to enter a tough area.īelow you, at the end of a broken bridge, you can spot a Soldier standing guard you can take out with a Stealth Deathblow, and grab the Pellet near him. Just above the Sculptor’s Idol is a higher ledge and a broken wall that hides an item - Ungo’s Sugar.
There are many levels of verticality in this area - so feel free to explore and travel whichever paths suit you. You can also use any found Sculptor’s Idol to travel between them, and back to the Dilapidated Temple.
Continue grappling across until you reach the main platform where you can find the Ashina Outskirts Sculptor’s Idol.Īt the Ashina Outskirts Sculptor’s Idol, you can now rest to heal and replenish your Healing Gourd - but any enemies killed in the area will reappear (excluding Mini-Bosses). You can now grapple across to the tree branches to see the true scope of the Ashina Outskirts, and far off in the distance is the Ashina Castle. Your Shinobi Prosthetic has been fitted with a Grappling Hook, that allows you to to grapple across platforms like tree branches and roof ornaments - look for circles on your HUD that turn green when you are in range. With everything else done here, take the main path to a broken bridge. Next to him is an Offering Box, which states that it can help you receive items that have been left behind, in exchange for an offering - but it is currently empty. It is especially worth your while to take him up on his offer and work on your fundamentals, and return to him as you learn more techniques.

Resting at the Idol, you may see a woman appear near the temple. To the left of the Sculptor’s Idol is a cave leading to a fake wall that can’t be used yet. However, since some of your currency is lost on death, it may be best to keep the purse until you need to buy something. Behind the temple is a Light Coin Purse, that grants 100 Sen when used. Head outside to find a Pellet next to the Sculptor’s Idol - a checkpoint that allows you to rest - among other things. There’s also a different Buddha statue in the room, apparently crafted by the “True Sculptor”, but it can’t be interacted with yet. Talk to Sculptor with your new Shinobi Prosthetic to learn what has happened, and that your master still lives, and some interesting details about his bloodline.
